What is the best dvd software out there to take advantage of a modern video card like the geforce? I have power dvd 2.55 right now and it works ok. Let me know what you think!
Does both of these programs have Dolby Digital (AC3) playback? I have the Cambridge Soundworks DTT2500 which can play Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks. When I hook up my portable DVD player with the digital cable it sounds great and the systems Dolby Digital symbol lights up. But when I use my PC DVD player (Toshiba 16X) hooked up through my SoundBlaster Live 5.1 I do not get the Dolby Digital sound.
I bought the two cables needed between the DVD Rom and the soundcard. The 4 pin to 4 pin and the 2 pin SPDIF. I am stumped on getting 5.1 out of my PC. Any suggestions?
nVidia doesn't have their own optimized player? Bad nvidia. Yay ATI.
PowerDVD, the only other program I've used, is only ok.. but it doesn't have hardware support for the radeon last I checked, so it doesn't look as good.
You have the current Sound Card Liveware & drivers installed?
That is the other thing. Intervideo WinDVD (a particular version) has DTS audio capability. But to answer your question. WinDVD does have 5.1 Channel support and should detect it. But if I recall PowerDVD 3.0 should work two...
I tried out windvd and found the image to not be as clear on some moving objects as with powerdvd. I havent heard anything about a dvd player optimized for nvidia cards, ati is better in that area and since no one is really pressing on dvd video card display quality they figured why bring more attention to it when it might make them look bad.
