Ive never purchased clothes before, Im looking for the cheapest most durable stuff I can find. Id like to buy in bulk to keep the unit cost as low as possible. I dont know brands or materials, all I know is I decided to go into a store and almost threw up looking at the prices. How the hell can anyone afford 100$+ shoes or 75$ jeans?! 5$ for a pair of socks?! 15-30$ for a shirt! I honestly cant comprehend anyone paying that.

I need durable stuff (or something thats got the right balance of cost and durability), Ive worn through freebies I get faster than I can get them (Ill go through 30 a year)...I work in a really dirty tough environment and get cut up allot so buying a 50 pack would be fine, or even 100. I dont think I could manage the cost of more than that at once.

Ive got probably 5 pairs of jeans left (in decent shape), everything else is literally falling apart. Im seriously taping my clothes together, but thats not an option anymore. Im hoping there is an online site or something for clothes. Im thinking no more than 5$ a shirt, maybe 2$ a pair of socks and underwear. Comfort doesnt matter...if they made shirts as tough as jeans Id pay more.

So what brand/type do you guys get and where at?

Wow you go through all that and then say $5 a shirt, $2 a pair of socks. Goto walmart you can get t shirts like 5 for $10. Socks like $5 for 10 pairs.

Don't expect to walk into a Banana Republic and expect it to be cheap. Go to walmart.

are mommy and daddy really going to let you out of the house at 12 and go shopping alone?

Yeah wtf how old is the OP?

His post makes him sound like he's 30 and a coal miner. The fact that he has never payed for clothes make him seem like he is 15.

lol walmart or goodwill are about your only bets. If you can't comprehend paying 15-30 for a shirt, it'll probably blow your mind that one of mine was 70 when I bought it (although to be fair I've used it for about 5 years), and have basically worn similar stuff my entire life.

Seriously, you work in a dirty environment yet have never bought clothes. Does your sweatshop provide complimentary internet access?

Hanes T-shirts 5 bucks a pop a Walmart. Pretty decent and not the thin undershirt type. They usually have all colors and styles too.

What do you mean you've never purchased clothes before?

What do you mean, "what do you mean?"
Ive never bought clothes before...society and I are mutually exclusive on top of the fact that I really cant afford it (Ive got 75$ a month after rent for gas/utilities/food ect). Ive been using donated stuff. I was 6ft in elementary school as well, so I had all the clothes from my childhood for quite a while. Ive now worn through my stockpile and what I get donated isnt enough anymore. And I might not actually get any more donations...I have been taping my clothes recently, but work doesnt like that and while I dont care what I look like I do need the protection.

"OP is true to his username, lol." You all act suprised? Im seeing that allot here...I dont get it.

Not 12, closer to 30. Not a coal miner, but close enough. I deal with a 15,000 watt laser and metal fab machines heavy metal and wood objects. Lots of radiation (think sun damage, but MUCH faster) dust dirt ash splinters and sharp objects. Someone dies every seven years or so here. Yes my work does provide internet access. They had a small gym too, but someone actually died there so they took it away (machine failed and broke his spine).

I dont get the pic...or the alternator joke?

But I got an answer, Ill see if I can find a walmart or goodwill (I think Ive seen a wallmart, who names these places?). Nobody knows a good online site though, with bulk discount?

And why the hell would anyone go to these other places and pay way more if there are retail stores with low prices? Unless there are indeed shirts that last seven times longer.

Either you're a troll or you just immigrated here. How can you not know what Wal-Mart is?

Can you build a nuclear reactor? No? Not everybody knows everything. There are several reasons I dont like leaving my house. Even if I did go to stores, who has been in all of them and knows what all they have? Maybe Ive been going to food mart for 10 years and dont know that theres a food plus down the street with better prices. It doesnt hurt to ask.

As far as the girlfreind idea, from what Ive seen they are stuck up vain materialistic assholes. Do not want.

Im still serious about finding a good online bulk site.

for what it's worth, I've found that Kirkland undershirts (from Costco) are much more durable than the Walmart Hanes white cotton Tees. I personally prefer the Hanes ones more, as they're thinner and work better as an undershirt, but the Kirkland shirts are thicker, fit larger, and put up with abuse quite well.
