I'm looking to make my old k6-III 450MHz server system a lot quieter, so what would you say is the best socket7 heatsink out there today that I could put a silent fan on and get some good cooling?

thanks.

WHY DONT YOU TRY IT?

If you have all the materials handy, try it and see if the contact is sufficient. There are many socket 7 heatsinks still being sold by retailers, just check them out. I bet all the socket 7 HSF reviews are gone nowadays, but almost anything will work fine for a socket 7. K6-2's run hot, but they are designed to.

If you really want to lower temps, remove the IHS from the K6-2 ;)
