Well, the upgrade is coming. A new mobo is needed (new CPu also, but that has been defined to be an Athlon XP 1800+). No overclocking. What is best bet for performance and stability that can be found under $100??

Also, another question, maybe a little off topic. Do you know of any good vendor that accepts International credit cards?? What I wanna do is to buy with an AMEX card issued in Mexico and having the stuff delivered withing USA to my in-laws. This have been done before with Barnes&Noble for books and 9software.com, no problem with them.

However, I know newegg.com & TCWO.com (2 of the best) don't take international credit cards. Do you have any advice on this one??

Thanks

I recently built a system with an ECS K7S5A board (~$55) and I love it. AMD 1600+ works great, however, I have also heard very good things about the Shuttle AK31A with Via kt266A chipset, and also the Shuttle AK35GTR also with Via kt266A and ATA 133 (both sub $100 boards). Good Luck! :)

If you want to go as cheap as possible, K7S5A is a good choice, SDRAM or DDR.
Want to come closest to $100 and optimize performance? Then sit still for a couple of weeks and
get the K7VTA3 v3.x, that'll be VIA KT333 chipset, DDR only, certainly faster than K7S5A.
