Best smartphone if there were no third party apps

OP needs to reword his title. He didnt actually mean "no" apps. He meant no third party apps. Just what comes with the OS. Which is actually quite a lot depending on the platform. You can do a lot more with almost any smartphone than you can with a Nokia S60 using the Ovi app store.

Ok, ironed out the title some.

Symbian S3, obviously. Or even the older Symbian S60. Those come loaded with apps that Android/Iphone users have to buy from third parties. File browser, photo/video editor, turn by turn navi, media player for various formats, memory encryption, office document editing... just to name a few examples.
