Just got a wireless network installed in my house, but forgot one critical point. The touchpad on my laptop has died, so I need to use a mouse with it. Obviously when sitting in front of the telly i dont want a long cable coming out of the USb port, so am after soemthing with a really small "dongle" which just plugs straight into the USB port, if you know what I mean.

Are you talking about the cable length?

There are notebook mice out there that are smaller in size and come with a shorter cord. I personally use the Microsoft Notebook mouse and it has a short cord, but long enough so that it's still usable.

not sure exactly what you want, but Kensington makes a cool RF mouse where the dongle stores inside the mouse for storage. Its not that big a dongle either, or at least not that annoying based on the shape.

Kensington's site...

sorry let me clarify, I'm looking for a cordless optical mouse, but one where the "dongle" that attaches to the laptop is just a lump of plastic, not a lump of plastic on the end of the cable like both of my cordless mice currently are.
