I have to go with verizon for coverage reasons and I want two phones with a low-minute (700 is fine) family plan. What's the best site for this? If I want any texting at all, verizonwireless.com wants an insane $100, so I think one of the reseller sites surely is better. tia!

Check to see if your company has some kind of discount agreement with Verizon. I believe their standard corporate discount is 19%.

I don't know. I thought all the reseller could discount was the price of the phone.

that's what I thought too. Or give some store specific incentive (eg, Best Buy offers $25 GC or something)

i get 17% off.. but only on the primary line, not the total bill :(

technically, it's $90 minimum for your texting, assuming both phones... unlimited in + 500 out. $100 gets you unlimited across the board.

I'm still grandfathered into a 100txt/$3/mo plan.. w/ the option for 250txt/$5/mo. No pic messaging included though.

Good God, Verizon is EXPENSIVE. It's no wonder I keep sticking with T-mobile and its crap coverage in Western NY. I can retrofit my plan with employer discount, so I can still buy a phone in a store--what's a good one to go to? I'd hate to go to verizon and have a greasy 22 year old sell me the standard crap. I may do online, but for some reason I would prefer to get it in person.

What kind if phone do you want? Do you just want to make phone calls or do you want a smartphone, or something else? I have a Razr V3m and other than normal wear and tear it's working very well for me.

They should offer 21% now...or at least that is what mine is bumped to.

I don't see any real pricing difference vs say at&t for me.. the only benefit I get w/ at&t would be rollover.

tmobile is useless here for me, so shotty coverage isn't worth paying for.

I went from cingular to verizon a couple years ago and its been worth the extra cost. The coverage has been 10x better. The only thing i miss is the cooler phones.

I get 15% through my work though so that helps.

Also check out Circuit City stores which is an authorized Verizon reseller. They sometimes have sales.

If I'm not mistaken CC isn't the reseller, they just have agreements with corporate Verizon to have kiosks in their store. So you shouldn't see any difference in price.

CC is the only place to sell the green EnV, though, but frankly the online prices on these phones are unbeatable. I went through amazon, which has good rates if not quite the best.

Shopping @ Amazon for Verizon phones doesn't really help if you already have Verizon, as you don't then get the great discount.....
