Best Simpsons season

I have seasons 3,4, and 5 on DVD. I would like to pick up one more season but I'd like to pick up a highly acclaimed one. I can't remember which one was especially great... was it season 8? 7? or a later one that hasn't come out on DVD yet?

Pretty much. It's hard to choose really. I picked season 4, because it has one of my favorite episodes (Marge vs the Monorail)

season 4 is really when the simpsons started hitting its stride.

since you have it....get 8 before 7.

nope & no one should expect it to.
seasons 3-8 were absolutely incredible.
most shows are lucky to even last 5 seasons.

I don't think they want to. They've already lost all the fans that liked it 10 years ago. If they smarten it up, they'll probably lose the dumb comedy crowd and not regain their old fans, thereby killing the show. ;)

Not that last season was that good but there were a few in there that were pretty decent.

The mid 90's seemed to be the best for them though.

FWIW I've watched them from the days before they even had their own show and were just a short of The Tracy Ullman Show.

Granted, they've had a lot of ***** episodes but it's still somewhat enjoyable for the most part.
