I only watched it because of my wife and I didn't care for it. Wife did tell me the show caused certain bread sales to spike in Korea.

GF and I were doing nothing at home all day. Thanks for the suggestion. Thanks to Hulu, I'm already in the middle of Ep 1 and also emailed it to parents!

Breaking Bad just got terribly boring from Season 3. Hopefully this takes it up.

I loved that show! I watched it each week when they first aired it on KBS World.

It is loosely based on the story of the founder of Paris Baguette.

On episode 12 and still loving it. The excessive sighing from the President's Wife is great.

GF went on a marathon since my initial reply here.

I got bored of it by episode 3. It is a standard Korean drama formula and didn't see anything special:

1. shit happens
2. betrayal/backstabbing/hardships
3. win, repeat from 1.
+ sprinkle impossible and convenient coincidences throughout the plot.

Hey, the Mother-in-law is the major power support behind the main character! Did you see her coughing that I put in episode 2? Yup, now she can suddenly die in episode 4! You didn't see that coming, did you!!!

Tired formula and shallow writing.

I also wish the show had some eye candy. No one is hot or even remotely cute.

A big MEH to Yoojin from SES. LOL, that's what she's doing nowadays?

Actually she was my least favorite actor in the show. I don't think she's anywhere near good enough, although the one that played the whiny rich boy wasn't much better.

Anyways, SES can't hack it in today's KPOP. They're way too old... and the group is too small, haha.

Anyways, every K-Drama has that formula! 30 episodes is pretty long, so they recycle the same story for a few episodes. If you want a slightly shorter one, watch "Birth of a Billionaire." "Iris" is also pretty good, since that has way more action.

But for the least amount of K-Drama formulaic..ness, watch "All In." I can watch that one over and over.
