I use (and own) CuteFTP Pro, WinZip and Anawave Gravity (R.I.P.) but most of my day is spent in Visual Studio 6 (which I also paid for).

Ah, I should also mention Opera is my main browser. It's a banner supported freeware, or can be purchased to be bannerless.

And Powerdesk 5.0 was apparently released in March. It adds support for MP3 and digital cameras, as well as updates the File Viewer Pane to support more file types. See the contents of a file by clicking on it once! I love that....

Been using PowerMarks for years. It's a bookmark manager that works with IE, NS and Opera (or all at once). Much better than MS's lame "favorites".

I'm a big fan of Mozilla, which has (recently?) introduced Opera-style tabbed browsing (although I don't use it much) and is both free and ad-free.

My favorite text editor is JEdit, although it does require a reasonably current Java development kit or runtime environment (also free).

Looking at it objectively ZoneAlarm is probably the "best", but Ad-aware is the sentimental pick considering how much spyware it has booted from my HDD over the years.
