what settings should I use in my video card options, I want to run at the best fps I can get, but with good image quality.



btw what is anisotropic filtering?

In video card options I assume you mean the additional properties page of the drivers. There shouldn't really be anything there you need to change, unless you want to run with anti-aliasing on, or unless you've used the coolbits registry hack to enable overclocking.

I'm trying to look for a good review/article out there that illustrates anisotropic filtering well, but I haven't come across a good one yet. The above might make more sense when you see what it actually does. The gist of it though from what I understand and observe, is that it makes repeating textures appear sharper as they fade out into the distance. Usually it's most noticeable with the ground in FPS games.
