Best serious non emo teen angst anime?

I started watching "Working!!" the other day and it's strangely entrancing... so much more than Baka to Test. Maybe it's because the characters are more interesting, and Baka's odd obsession with everyone considering the one guy a girl all the time (and wanting photos of "him" in a girl's swimsuit) is creepy... even for anime standards. :|
