Hi Y'all,
I need to lock up my Win2K box while I'm not using it. I have all my passwords set and NTFS enabled on the disks I want, but I need more. I don't want any other user to be able to be the first to log on. My problem is that my roommates are shutting down or restarting my PC when I lock it with a password protected screen saver. Then, they simply use the user name I gave them to logon. Is there anyway to stop them from doing this.
As Always,
D

You can prevent users from restarting or shutting down the computer in Group Policy. However this doesn't prevent them from physically restarting the box itself. For that if you have the capibility to have a boot password. This would be in the BIOS. That would be the best you can really do, there are ways around that too though. If they have physical access to the computer it can never be totally secure.
