I use 1600x1200x32 just cause i think all the others look too damned big. Its really up to you on what you wanna use and like.

I think it's the 1280x1024 resolution that isn't "standard" compared to the rest. I forgot who mad a post about this like it not being the correct ratio. 1152x864 is suppose to better. I use 1280x1024 though, seems fine to me.

anything above 1024x768 is just too small, I don't like squinting when looking at my comp.

BTW I have 19.8/19.9 vision, far better then average so it's not my eyes.

I set my monitors to the highest resolution possible that supports at least a 85 Hz refresh rate.

1280x960.

no trouble seeing anything and i sit far away from my monitor.

don't use 1280x1024, it's an improper aspect ratio and it just distorts pictures...

If the aspect ratio for most monitors is 4:3, how did 1280x1024 become so popular? Why is it even around considering 1280x960 is virtually the same but with the propoer dimenions?

I used to use 1290X960 on my TNT2 but when I got a Radeon, that resolution was no longer supported so I started using 1290X1024. Amazingly, I can hardly tell the difference and when I use Powerstrip to create 1290X960, it actually looks strange to me!
Funny thing...

I think the best resolution would be whatever YOU think is the best. I think someone said that but yea...

Ever since I got my FD Trinitron monitor, I run at 1600x1200x32 @85hz. With my old 19" shadow mask monitor, I would run 1280x1024x32 @ 85hz...1920x1440x32 is a little to small for me..
