best screen on an OLD LAPTOP?

I have a thinkpad 570 (~4.5yrs old) and the screen sucks. my max budget is about $300, so I'm limited pretty old ones.

is there a lappy you know of that's a few years old (<=$300) that has an awesome screen?

How would you be able to connect the new screen to the old laptop? I'm just curious because I have two dead Portege's. Wouldn't mind using the screens for something else...

nonono, I'm considering buying a different laptop and selling my thinkpad, if I can find an old lappy w/ a pretty screen

hmm, well, I like my old Dell Lattitude CP/CPi/CPIa/Cpir's.....they have a decent 13.3 in tft....and they only run about $100-200, and replacement parts are plentiful on ebay

. yeah there are a few new laptops with AMAZING screens. I was just at frys and they had 2 fujitsus and a sony where the screen literally looked far better than any desktop LCD I've seen. the colors were so bright I thought I was on an E trip or something.

but I don't think they started making those amazing screens until very lately. I do know that there are a lot of machines about as old as mine that have much better screens than mine.
