I was looking around for a list of the best scratch DJ's because my friend told me of one that was banned from competition. Found plenty on Q-Bert Cash Money, and Mixmaster Mike, but I already knew of them and they weren't the one he was talking about. Anyone know of other really good turntablists?

Caught a movie last night on IFC (or Sundance) called Scratch. It has all those guys on it. Insane!

Qbert was the one your friend was talking about. He was not really banned from the DMC, he was just asked to not compete by Tony Prince (i think)because he took it year after year and at that point of battling he was way too ahead of anyone else to have any competetion. As far as the best scratch djs other then the ones you listed dstyles is probably my favorite. Babu and Melo-d are tight but its hard to find pure scratch tracks from them.

Q-Bert is banned from competition because he was too good, the last time I heard.

He was not banned at all. No respectable competetion will ever ban anyone for being too good. He was probably asked to judge; if he still wanted to join just to get the prize I doubt anyone would of stopped him from entering. The DMC has been known to rig battles but I doubt they will step so low to ban anyone.
