at least 2001 had good music.....ok at most it had good music, but even citizen kane didnt have that, AND it was boring, AND it was in black and white

I don't think I could choose a single one. My psyche is composed of so much from so many. I'd rather we compose a top 100 like the AFI would do. Along with those mentioned I loved a lot of films that wouldn't stand up to that high a standard, but without which the genre just wouldn't be complete.

Like...Dark City, Alien, Metropolis, and so on.

wow. I really hated Blade Runner. I love the genre, I love the director, and I loved all the actors that were in it, but I was bored silly by the movie.

I'd have to go with Empire Strikes Back.

Well, I, personally, would go with Tron, or perhaps Forbidden Planet.

But out of your choices, Blade Runner is the obvious superior, though I did give some thought to choosing Blade Runner instead.
