Looking to buy a scanner that will scan in color photos, graphics and text (to include graphics and tables). I'm looking for ease of installation and reliability. Software support for WIN 2K required. Any ideas with sources and prices?

The higher-end Epson Perfection models absolutely destroy all the competition in their range.

A step up in price from other consumer models, to be sure, but worth it to some folks, and MUCH cheaper than professional level scanners for nearly the same quality.

I can echo TallGeese - I recently replaced my old H-P ScanJet IIcx (vintage 1994) with a new Epson Perfection 2450 Photo scanner. It connects via USB 2.0 or 1394 Firewire, and is a super performer with graphics and OCR under XP Pro. The MSRP is $399 - but I found it for $345.
