best scanner software

I don't really like the default HP scanning software that can with my scanjet 3970. What are the best options out there for third party scanning software?

Do you have xp? Try its in scanner wizard in accessories.

Well, it's not 3rd party but while I'm here let me say that my new Canon Lide50 has excellent software.

The OCR in particular works superbly.

I personally use Scansoft Paperport. Good for organizing scanned documents and pictures. It came with my Visioneer scanner but can be purchased seperately.
