Textbridge is pretty good for OCR.

And when you mean graphics package, you mean manipulation software? like Photoshop or Paintshop Pro?
 
Some of the best for scanning graphics are:

VueScan

SilverFast

I use both and they are way better than the standard TWAIN drivers that came with my scanners (Epson Expression 800 & Minolta Dimage Scan Dual). However, SilverFast is very expensive.
