I got chosen to start scanning thousands of pictures at a nice high resolution and put them on DVDs. What would be the nicest scanner for doing this job? Preferably not one at a time, but I do not want the pictures to get messed up. >$1000 is OK, just as long as it is worth it. I might even be touching up a few etc.
I would also like it to scan negatives/slides if at all possible.
Kinko's, Office Depot, etc are not an option. Even walmart charges $1 photo.
After several hours, I am looking at the Epson Perfection 4870 PRO or the Canon CanoScan 9900F. I cant even find one that will properly "feed" photos through, that would be awesome. Of course, I just see document and think, 8.5x11. Supposedly the Epson has a photo feeder?
