best SATA cables?

My old SATA cables never did a great job of staying in their respective hard drives. Is there a newer cable design that does a better job of staying put?

Thanks!

Anyone know if these cables with a metal clasp will work with an older SATA hard drive? http://www.okgear.com/gears/LOW%20PROFILE%20SATA_CABLE_SERIES.htm

Yeah, the connection is the same.

While the connection may "look" the same they will not fit all SATA1.5 HDD's. As an example the SATA II cable w/ metal latch did not fit my WD740GD Raptor.

Hmm.... I've never had that problem.

Can you just remove the metal clip then?

I Googled for SATA I cables, but all that I found were SATA IIs. Will these fit most SATA Is? I have both Maxtor 6 Y080M0 and WDC Caviar.

Those cables with the metal clips work well. In fact they work so well I had one break the L shaped plastic data connector completely off my drive🙁.

It's strange that the computer industry spend 20 years building up to the SATA standard...and then provided no way to secure the cables and no standard way to identify their grade (SATAI or SATA2) or shielding (Internal or External).
