I can't run cat5 through the walls at my new apartment. That said, I'm using and old WRT54G, which just ain't cutting it these days.

Any good recommendations on a decent router?

I am no expert but I bought a Netgear WNDR3700 this past Christmas and I am very happy with its performance so far.

Just about any of them sold at wal-mart or best buy will work. Linksys, netgear, d-link,,,, should get the job done.

Why isn't the wrt54g cutting it?
That is because there is a shift in the way people deals with computers.

No more tech staff just stories. Just like Network news. No real news just make believe stories.

OP if you want sound advice, organize your cognitive system to give meaningful info about your Network condition and needs as relates to Wireless.

Otherwise, WRT54G flashed with DD-WRT is as good as all the other plastic boxes.
