Looking for a reliable WR which will be located in my main floor that can reach my kids bedrooms which is almost located in the 3rd floor of my place.
How will a D-Link DI-624 AirPlus Xtreme G router in 2-3 story homes? Any good/bad experiances?

Or is there a better alternative? I dont want a WR that can cause interferance with 2.4GHz phones.

Any input will be appreciated, so i can buy the best products under my conditions.

ps: i want to keep it under $100.00 too :)

I use an 802.11b wireless router/access point at home. it's located on the second floor... it reaches both the first floor and the basement without problems, though the signal is a bit weak by the time it gets to the basement.

for maximum coverage, I'd recomend getting any of the standard WAP's and hooking up a signal booster to it. I've heard good things about the Linksys boosters.

There is no way to tell you if an Entry Level Wireless would cover the distance no matter what Brand you use. You have to try.

At the moment the best performance for the price is: D-Link Extreme G Bundle Kit ($87 after rebate).

Why?

Link to: 802.11a/b/g SOHO Routers & Access Points: Performance.

Notice how the D-Link and Netgear Super G stick out above the Crowd.

Bundle=Wireless SuperG Router + matching PCMCIA Cardbus.

If the Kid's computer can not work with PCMCIA it might cost more since you would need a USB or PCI Unit.

Great price. Let us know how it works for you. When you get the 624 you will want to update the firmware with the 2.37 release that just came out last Monday.

I can go 3 houses down and across the street so you should have no problem with 3 stories.
