Best rome total war mods?

I hated RTR platinum edition (7 i think). it was way too hard, few units, and it took forever to build things. I loved the realism, but it detracted from the fun factor.

RTRPE and RTR7 or not the same mods from what I understand. The PE mod is based on the version 6 mod. RTR7 is an entirely new mod still unfinished. Not sure when it'll be finished. The project was stopped at one point and a new group later stepped in to make it. At least thats how I understand it anyway from what I have read. Couldnt advise you what to try. I've only played RTR 5.4 and the vanilla game. Check the TWC for what mods are availble and ask there.

Europa Barbournum is supposedly very good--I myself have played only a bit, but my x1900xt cried on the real time battles, and the landscape looked complete shit, so I said screw it.

Europa Barbournum II is being made for M2TW engine. I'm looking forward to that.

hmm hmmm any other opinions? EB seems kind of slow/really hard/too realistic/not fun

Most mods go for realism and they often tend to slow down things in the game so you cant blitz through a campaign quickly like in the vanilla game. Did you go to the TWC site and the Totalwar.org site and read their hosted mods sections? If neither of them have the mod you want then it probably doesnt exist or publicly availble. At that point your choice is to just live with what you got availble or mod your own game. Not saying that to be harsh or mean but just the plain truth of the situation.
