Best road side assistance plan?

I am going 4 wheeling a few hundred miles from my home next weekend and I am worried about breakages on the trail. What are some towing plans that will cover at least 150 miles? I have Allstate insurance and their towing is 5 miles to the nearest facility. I would like to have it towed to a place of my choosing(my apt. complex). Any other suggestions?

150 miles is pretty far...most places cover up to $50 worth of towing...you could always have a few plans going and chain them together...other wise pay the extra couple of bucks to get back home

considering i got a quote for $40 to go 4 miles, that kind of worries me. I figured i can always have a buddy tow me home without incident, but better to be safe than sorry

As a former desert rat, my breakdown plan consisted of the following:
(1) 5 gallon can of gas
(2) 5 gallon can of water
(3) Highlift jack
(4) 2 spare tires
(5) mini air compressor
(6) Tow strap
(7) First aid kit
(8) A number of spare parts that were known to be fragile (axles)
(9) Spare belts/hoses/etc
(10) My toolbox, with which I could replace/repair anything that broke
(11) A case of C-Rations
I mostly was out there by myself, and often would not see another person all day, so I had to be prepared to take care of myself.

And I never had to walk out or be rescued. (Although things did get interesting on occasion)

If you bend a driveshaft, be prepared to drive "real" slow

i am more concerned with my transmission and entire rear axle. Considering its a c-clip axle and is drum brake, if an axle or ring & pinion breaks, i'm SOL

uhh...i think he was gonna drive his truck on the road...then take his quad 4 wheelin...all that seems a bit much for a freeway trip
