The V-day Noreaster made up for a dismal winter for snow sports. These were the best conditions I've seen on the east coast (better than most days in the West even). 60' of snow in a couple days and the stuff kept falling all weekend! I'm sure all the other New England resorts were sweet as well. Jay Peak's glades were amazing with soft moguls, and most trails holding up well all weekend despite the crowds. It was amusing watching all the New Englanders falling in the powder and getting stuck, since people here are so used to groomed ice. It was cool to see the snowmobile highway up and running in full force too!

Sounds like you've learned the joys of powder (considering the East almost never gets any)

I'd still rather go to Sunday River. Loon is nice for a small mountain.

Okemo and Waterville looked pretty good this weekend also...Watervill was really cold and windy so the slopes were pretty much empty.

I love Sunday River (been there 3 weekends this year) since they have so many trails and are great at making snow. But SR can't touch Jay Peak in terms of off piste runs and glades. Although I would have loved to see Shockwave and Agony this weekend at SR.
