... for an LCD monitor with max resolution of 1280X1024 and the best price? I currently have a geforce 3 ti200 that is decent for now but won't be for half-life 2. Any suggestions?

I suggest you wait until HL2 is actually released, then make a decision. You may be able to pick up a 9800XT that will run it at a decent rate by then for $200.

How much are you looking to spend? As Jeff pointed out, if HL2 is your primary reason for upgrading, it's best to wait for the game to be released.

I just went from a Geforce 3 to a Radeon 9800 non pro. Great price for the performance it gives. My games look alot better and affter I upgrade my CPU to 2.6ghz I'm won't be worried about Halflife 2. Doom 3 might be a different story though.

Very much agreed and don't think I will be upgrading my ti4200's until then.
