Got a hand towel holder thats squeaking when it moves. Both parts are cheap pressed aluminum. Whats the best way to make it quiet and keep in mind I dont want any oil or anything icky dripping on the floor.

WD-40?
General purpose grease?
Graphite?
Take it apart and polish the edges?

Rub candle wax > WD40.

1. Buy a cheap candle
2. Literally rub the candle onto the desired surface
3. Win forever, no drip.

I have the same issue with my hand towel holder. I'll try the wax suggestion also.

Reminds me of my skateboarding days waxing ledges.

it squeaks only when you use it right?
so why is it a problem?

soap works well, but disappears when you clean the fixture. wax lasts longer.
I'm assuming the squeak is coming from two parts rubbing. Just force the soap in there and wipe up the adjoining surfaces. Quiet and clean.
