Best remote assistance applications

I'm talking about something on par with LANDesk or SCCM in regards to the console they offer.

Most of the reviews I find online are for 1-10 machines, like logmein, webex, teamviewer, etc.

I have a client that is looking for a remote assistance application similar to LANDesk that has a console for around 250 machines and growing. They are not concerned with the software deployment, imaging, inventory, and patch management that some of these other packages come with.

Any recommendations?

I've worked with it in the past and haven't been too thrilled with it.

I need a console type product that can run on a server and be remotely deployed to 250+ machines, runs silently in the background and needs little to no user interaction to use.

SCCM and LANDesk offer this but they also come with many other features that aren't needed

Dameware Mini Remote Control is pretty awesome if all the computers are within the same network (and by that I mean they are not separated by NAT). It's very inexpensive, too.

Bomgar if they're not.

For one-off support, I like Crossloop and Join.me.

VNC isn't great for corporate support.

another vote for dameware. rdp-like speed (as opposed to vnc) and all the tools and data you could ask for when looking at windows clients. its the only thing at the hospital i work at that i actually like

you can see event logs, various system properties, installed software, get a remote console, issue shutdown actions, see/stop running processes and what is populating the task bar (its interesting to see web page titles, sometimes), edit the registry, access/manipulate services and more. great tool. im looking for work elsewhere and im going to miss dameware if someone else doesnt have it.
