Hello All

I run a day trading operation from home. My cable modem recently died on me (Motorola Surfboard). So I go to the cable provider and they give me their newest one:

Ubee D3.0 Cable Modem

It looks a little cheap. Don't know how it actually is, but the appearance sure doesn't inspire confidence!

I want to buy the best cable modem I can. Top priority is that it doesn't crash. Cost is not important.

In the past, people have recommended that I use the cable modems provided by the ISP, because they will no how to service them and will be sure to be compatible, etc.

What do you think? Any specific product recommendations?

Thank you!

Buy a Cisco router and add a cable modem module to it. It'll be expensive, but it won't crash on you.

Ubee used to be called ambit. If the modem works fine then keep it. Don't judge by appearance.

If you are looking for a different docsis 3.0 modem then you would probably get a motorola sb6120 or a cisco/linksys one. About $100 I think for a new one.
