Best refresh rate for games at 8x6, 10x7 etc.

What do you guys recommend? I usually play at 85hz, and most games on xp and 2k default to 60hz. But I'm getting a new monitor soon, and it supports 100+ refresh rates, as does my videocard. Should I play at say 800 by 600 at 100hz etc.? I'd just like to hear what you guys are running.
 
Go for max refresh rate at 1024 x 768.

With a 7500 you should get excellent frame rate's in everything but like Serious Sam 2 etc.
also, if your refresh is 85+ I would suggest enabling V-sync, but that's really personal preference.
It will reduce (if not eliminate) horizontial tearing in games.

Some people say that they can "feel" a difference in the smoothness of a game with v-sync off, even if it reduces image quality

With your Radeon 7500, make sure you get RefreshFix from here. You'd probably want the highest rates your video card/monitor can support in all your games at whatever res you prefer. It's personal taste.
