You know who is rarely mentioned in these kinds of discussions, Big Daddy Kane. Kane was as smooth as all get out.

Man, am I the only person who thinks 2pac is overrated? He put out a lot of songs and of all the songs he put out I've probably liked about 6 of them total and most of those were tracks made to insult other rappers. Maybe I just think he's overrated 'cause I love Biggie :p

yeah, i see your point, because i see Pac as the best, and i think Biggie is overrated. of course, the difference between you and i is that i know my opinion is right. proof you say? pac has a greatest hits cd that spans over 2 discs, and with the top singles that's been released afterwards from that album, he could expand to a disc #3. where is biggie's greatest hits? and if one was released, it would prolly be 10 tracks and 45 minutes long. its the nirvana-syndrome, he only became big after he died. of course, keep in my mind my opinion is completly biased, but dont take that into account. :p

edit: and i also only stated that to further the discussion in this thread and keep it alive. or else this thread would die. biggie has a few hits, but trying to tell someone who has prolly listened to biggie their whole lift that he isnt great isnt going to make him change his mind on the matter and embrace pac, but itll make for an interesting discussion.

hrm, pretty subjective.

everyone's gonna have a different take.

most emotional
most albums
most recordings
most sales
most critically acclaimed among other rappers or the press
im sure i get my point across ..

as for the biggie vs tupac debate .. they were totally different in terms of the music and flow ..

sorta like Beatles vs Nirvana

Puff Daddy has his own spot in the history books. I put him as the one rapper of our generation, much like Tupac was the last.

P.Diddy was NEVER a good rapper. He was a hack, always has been. Now producer or entrepeneur, thats another story.
