Best Ram for ASUS p5w series mobos...

Hi all...I'm building a new rig with the ASUS p5w series (not sure which one yet, although I think the P5WDG2-WS and P5WD2-E use different ram, so I guess I'm also wondering which board to use) and an X1900XT, which I eventually plan to run with another one using xFire.

What is the best ram (brand, specs, recommended total memory, etc) for that set up? This rig will be a gaming/photoshop machine.

If your not going to overclocking idk if it's worth spending that much on that board you should be able to get a board that has crossfire options just lower max fsb.

as for the best ram that depends if your going to oc again if your not value ram will do it either by corsair or ocz would get my pick around DDR2-667-DDR2-800 depending on the motherboards standard.

OC is a definite option...my understanding was that the p5w was the only conroe Xfire option right now, which is why i was planning on using those boards...and the reviews indicate that several of the core 2 duos OC well...

Most ppl seem to like the ocz platinum if money is no object, but it kinda is since i will be spending a bit on the board...you think better to get a different board and spend the money on the ram instead?

actually there is a quiet a lot of boards that support crossfire. SLi is the one that you can't get yet

I would go with the value ram if your not going to oc

the E6600 already beast the FX-60 at stock speeds so it's not going to be slow if you don't oc

I got an e6600 when my office built a new server in the last two weeks...just got them to order me an extra one when they ordered because i couldnt find them anywhere in stock online.

What other boards do you recommend that support conroe and xfire? Thought the Asus were the only ones right now...

Thanks...some of those look like SLI and I'm going for Crossfire, but I'll definitely check them out...also most of them are about $100 less than the P5WDG2-WS...

Anyone else have a setup (ram + mobo) to recommend for conroe + dual x1900XT's?
