Best RAM for AMD or Intel build.

I have read somewhere, not sure where, that DDR2 800mHz was the best (speed for the $) for an AMD x2 build and the Intel's (C2D) can run pretty much the same at 533mHz thru 800mHz. All of this would be at stock speed, no OC'ing. I'm trying to find some links to prove this, but have been having a hard time finding some to prove this. I've been reading this for the last few months, but can't quite seem to find some links to back this up. Can someone help out here?
 
Their about the same prices which is why its considered better, that and the fact you have more play room if you decide to OC.
 
Yeah I don't have a problem concerning the price, I was just trying to find links that I read about concerning my OP. If you have any to back up my readings, than please let me see them. Thanks for you time.
