depends on what kind of racing you like. there is alot of good racing games for the xbox. dont bother with pgr2 because forza motorsport will be out in jan i think. nascar 2005 is good (if you like nascar). rallisport challange 2 is awesome. typically i go to gamespot.com/xbox and see what their reviews are on games before i buy them. 8.5 and up is usually a damn good game. i dont have burnout 3 but they rated it really high. unrealistic racing is not my forte though so i probably wont get it

That's about it.

Forza Motorsport comes out this holiday season, and it's getting much hype to hopefully be a Gran Turismo competitor or even killer. I doubt it will overtake GT's racing crown on it's first try, but it could be something great for XBOX owners.

Great, what a way to kill a game!

*Puts fingers in ears to not hear any hype regarding it*

took about 20 minutes to burnout on this pile of crap...

PGR2 and Need For Speed Underground for outstanding racing titles

Soon to be Forza Racing..
I prefer a deeper game than crash into your opponant

I have not played Burnout 3 yet, but Burnout 2 was a blast to play. BO3 got great reviews though!

I also really liked PGR2 and Rallisport 2.

Burnout 3 is an arcade racer, but a truly excellent one.

PGR2 is fairly arcady too... and not as good as burnout

Burnout 2 was more fun than PGR2, although I logged more hours with PGR2.. mostly because it was so challenging. I just about threw the controller through the TV hundreds of times while playing the original PGR.... dang it was frustrating...

PGR 2 had outstanding psychics...
way better than the crappy true arcade Burnout series...
I dunno how peeps like that...
PGR2 is the closest thing Xbox has to Grand Tursimo which was the best driving sim of all time

I dont understand why peeps like burnout 3...
i bought it and sold it back less than a day later completly bored..

on the other hand i could not put my controller down for PGR2
and need for speed Underground really kept me playing..
thats about as arcade as I want my driving games...

Forza looks like the Holy grail of Xbox racers hopefully will be the Xbox GT...

Then that explains why you think Burnout 3 is total crap. If you don't like games where you crash into other cars, then don't give your obviously biased opinion on it! Burnout 3 is one of the best arcade racers in years, and is far from "arcade racer crap".

It all depends on the mode. With the cooperative crash mode, it's only 2 players at a time. But for the more fun single race and road rage modes, the max is 6 players at a time. With the crash mode online, you can have a max of 8 players, but each player takes turns crashing, so it's not an all-at-once kinda thing.

hey man I bought the game after all the peeps here said it was good I gave it a fair shot..
the game has arcade physics and very little going for it except the fact that crashes are spectacular..
but really whats the point in those amazing crashes if it doesnt take you outa the race if you total...
pretty dumb..

wow I just hit a wall car bus at 200 MPH with unlimited nitrous and my car disintergrated but wow poof
im back in the race..
pffft..
crap.

hence the genre being "ARCADE" racing. its not suppose to be realistic.

Looks like you've made your point (over and over)... You don't like the arcade racer genre. That's like me going on and on about how bad Warcraft III is, since I don't care for RTS games.

Personally, I think both PGR2 and Burnout 3 are awesome racers. And even though they are very different, my collection has room for both. :)

And yes, Forza looks amazing.

Btw, why I didn't see Rallisport Challenge 2 mentioned??? It's an outstanding game, as well.

Is it much of an improvement over the first?
I like it a lot better because it includes a couple different modes of RallyCross racing.

And yes, it's much prettier. :)

(But, if you didn't like the first one, or Rally racing games in general, then there's nothing here to change your mind.)
