Best QUIET HSF combo for AMD 64 4000+

Im going to buy one of these guys, but I also use my computer to run movies to my tv, and it sits next to my couch, so what do I use to keep it cool and yet not be able to hear it from close by? Thanks

Several choices and several price tags. What you want to spend or does it matter? I use this> http://www.silenx.com/productc...ory=4&idproduct=98
but is is pricey. Cannot hear it whatsoever though. Zalman and Thermalright also make excellent solutions as well just be warned of size and mobo compatibility for all of these. The thermalrights are much lighter than both the Zalman and Swiftech but this was not an issue for me I do not tote my desktop around.

Price is not any issue. Performance and quietness are the main thing

Than go water lol. No really the Swifty is quality and you can get any 80mm or 92mm to sit on top. For the 92mm though you will need some diff holding brackets you can get on Swiftech's wbsite. These SilenX fans have the best noise/cfm ratio bar none, but you will hear people bashing their stuff. I love em. The panaflos are fans to consider as well. G-Luck and agn make sure your mobo is compatible with these hefty/large solutions. Lotta reviews right here on Anand about the Thermalrights/Zalmans causing issues with capacitors/mem modules as far as size.

Dose SilentX think they are fooling anyone with that? It's clearly a Swiftech.... just over priced (quite lame). If your interested you can get it here for much less.

The Thermalright XP-90/120 are also good options, the XP-90 fits just about anything. Zalman 7000 and 7700 work well too and the fan is integrated, the 7700 has capability issues as well do its size.

If you go with the Swiftech or Thermalright I'd recommend Panaflow L or M1A's for fans.

lol fooling? Linky no worky 🙂 Yes its clearly a Swiftech as you can readily see in the picture. Swifts/3dCool's prices are very close to this as well. Cheaper at sidewindr? 47$ and still gotta buy a fan? Seems same to me but I might be getting tired tonight. Like I said peeps like to bash SilenX, but its all up to you gwem so g-luck. Link is well now 😉

Fixed now...

It's $32.00, + $6.00 for a Panaflow L1A.

SilentX gets bashed a lot because they seem to think they are the "be all and end all" of low noise cooling when there are clearly better options. They are also overpriced.

By the way Oper this is not a 939 compatible HS but tx anyways for your research. Gwem this HS will NOT work on your CPU purchase. I dont care who they think they are lol I just like their service, products, and timely shipping. That is worth $ to me, but this is what forum is for to help people save money and give differing opinions so ty for your kind advice Oper.

I have an XP-90 with a 92mm Vantec Stealth on it.... it's pretty well dead silent... I love it 🙂
and my CPU under full load sits around 44C... sweet.

Yeah, that one is for the Athlon XP, the Athlon 64 verions are bit more expensive, you can check them out here.

I think the best bet is the Thermalright XP-90 with a Panaflow M1A.
