Thats a pretty tall order for that price range. With only $100 your not going to get all the bells and whistles. If you if you find one it will probably be a crappy unit. What you will find that are decent won't have an 8 pin connector, will only have 2x 6 pin PCI-e and won't be modular. IMO if you don't have 4 PCI-e connectors your not really future proof. Not that any PSU or any other PC component is future proof.

The best i can recommend is this Cooler Master 600W.

That Cooler Master PSU should be rated as a 450 watt at best as it has 2 12v rails rated at 18 amps each. They give no combined spec, best case 36 amps. Most multi rail supplies can't put out their rated power on all 12 volt rails at the same time so that 36 amp guess is most likely high, could be as low as 30 amps. If you are going to spend money get a PSU with a single 12 volt rail. For under $100 I'd go with a Corsair CMPSU-550VX, single rail 41 amps. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817139004

newegg PSU prices suck. there isn't a huge selection around the web of 600W+ PSUs for under $100, although for under $130 there sure is

Corsair TX650 at buy.com for $97 straight up, free shipping

He's actually somewhat correct, but for the wrong reasons. Going with a single rail should offer better compatibility for future use. There are several split rail PSUs that are just as good, but going with a single you know you won't have problems.

BTW, I 2nd the Corsair 650TX recommendation. It isn't modular, but finding a high quality 600+W PSU that is also modular - all within a $100 budget - that's no easy task.

who said multiple rails were better, he smashed the FUD that single rails were better. Just because single rails aren't better doesn't mean that multi-rails are.

I'd rather have a true multirail than a fake one. At least I know that possible damage will be limited to the devices attached to that rail if something goes amiss.

Got myself a Corsair 650tx, great looking psu. Heavy came with some nice little accessories and seems to be pretty high quality.
