Howdy. I have my lab pointing to OK's proxy, but there seems to be quite a problem getting wus for the machines. Is there a proxy out there that has a good stash of wus that I can point my machines to over the weekend? I hate to have them just sitting there waiting over the weekend with nothing to do. Thanks

how many do you need? I can share

EDIT: yes, please do what serialb said. I can share if you cant get some anywhere else, but if you can get some after contacting OK, that is better

OK now has over 20,000 WUs available and MaxSiren has over 1,000. You might want to PM them about many WUs you will need and ask them to move it into your queue.

Maybe you guys can help me out. I think I'm confused. :) All I did for the lab machines was put "-proxy orangekid.teamanandtech.com:5001" in the client setup. I'm not running Seti driver or anything on them. If there are a ton of wus in OK's queue, I shouldn't have a problem then, right? I just want to make sure that I'm not screwing it up on my end. :)

Just PM OK to let him know that you're coming. Also be aware that OK's queue will have the same problems that anybody else's machine might have when trying to connect to SETI during really bad times, so your results may not show up in the SETI stats right away. The important thing is that your machines not go idle trying to get work. :)

There are a lot of WUs available at OK's Q. But those WUs are already assigned to each user's queue. Initially when you attempt to connect to a Q, it will create a queue under your name. As Berkeley is having this bandwidth problem now, it's not likely we can passthru your WU request and download it straight from Berkeley for you. What most of the Qmasters do is to move some WUs from other users' queues into your newly created empty queue.

A better way to do it is to send in a few completely WUs under your name, then PM the Qmaster about how many WUs you plan on crunching.

In your case, you maybe better off going with Shux's Q as everything is already set up. Also, it will reduce OK's Q-load as he's trying hard to upload all the 4000 results cumulated over the past week or so.
