I can't stand Norton anymore. Way to bloated for me.. What's a good replacement for the hard drive cleaner??? Not to totally erase but to clean up files..

I don't believe in using a registry cleaner so I wouldn't know what to recommend. I only (manually) edit the registry when I see stray malware entries in MSCONFIG. If you elect to use one be sure to back up the registry before you start cleaning. :p

Is a "hard drive cleaner" used to erase everything from your hard drive prior to disposal or does it just optomize the available space on your hard drive?

crap cleaner has a registry cleaner. . . WHen you open it, click on Issues - that is the reg cleaner. I run it about once a month and delete 40-50 odd things. I've never had any problems.
