Best Program for Streaming Music / MP3 playback

I am still using WinAmp. Having heard about NULLSOFT's woes and the changes AOL/Nullsoft are attempting in the Face of a declining install base, what do you use. As expected Windows Media Player having been bundled with everything including the kitchen sink is the #1 installed media player followed by #2 Real Player One and then #3 WinAmp.

Currently I listen to Tag Trace, SomaFM and Digitally Imported along with my MP3 collection using WinAmp3 and the MMD3 skin, is there anything out there that "sounds" as good and also can play streaming media like what Shoutcast/Winamp can do?

Can anyone explian why 2.91 is better than 3.x? I didnt notice much of a real difference.

3.x has become a bit of bloatware trying to add all the features of others.

2.x is the original and does just want you want it to and no more: Play sh1t.

I'm using 3.x myself - I've gotten used to it and it still is better than the competition, but I totally understand the folks using 2.x plus there's some cool visualizations still for 2.x and you have to use some "compatibility" plug in to get them running under 3.x

Also, don't forget to get a copy of the StreamRipper plug in so you can record those streams. You can find it on sourceforge I believe.

2.9 is a little different than the other 2.x series. IT can play movies and everything that 3.x does, but in a smaller package with less bloat.
