I was a huge Epson fan for a while, because the photo quality was unsurpassed. However, since the inkjet heads are built into the printer and don't get replaced with every cartridge, I had clogging problems after a few years, which was a pain. Plus, they are loud. I recently bought an HP deskjet 940c, and have been extremely happy with it. The photo printing is outstanding for a $150 printer, and you really have a hard time distinguishing prints from it an real photos. The text is crisp, and the printer is very quiet, and relatively fast.

I was a big fan of HP, up until I needed to print 3X5 cards. It keep on getting jammed and totally screwed up the alignment..... After 3 HP printers of that I decided to switch to Lexmark because the paper tray is up at the top so putting gravity to use was a good thing for the cards. But Lexmark has bad photo quality... so I am thinking switching to Epson
