Best printer for the buck.

Hey, Im looking for an inkjet printer thats fast, print out really sharp color pictures and black text. It also needs to be economical in ink usage and have a big ink cartridge.
I had an old Epson Stylus pro but now its going out of whack.
What do you recommend.

The Epson C82 is a amazing printer. 22ppm and incredible colour prints. It also has seperate colour inkwells so you only need to refil a specific colour, thus it's cheaper on ink. I highly recommend it.

I have a Canon S520. Print quality is very good, ink cartridges have very long life (plus it has separate cartridges for each colour). And each cartridge is only about CAN$18 (that's like, what, 2 cents American 🙂 ).

I just got a Canon i850 about a month ago. very good pictures, nice text printing, long ink life and small droplet size. reasonably priced too. Oh yeah, and seperate ink colors and easy to replace inkheads if needed.

I found a new HP that still uses the 42ml hp45 black ink cartridges. The Deskjet 6122 does all you describe. HP ink cartridges have the print head on them so if you buy a dud refurb cartridge worst is you have to return the cartridge. I think the yield for the hp45 cartridges is 833 pages. Consumablewise, This printer actually costs less per page than a hp laserjet 1100.
Best of all there is a mail in rebate on the 6122's from HP right now.

And friggin' how!!!

If you don't print something at least once a week the heads get toasted. Then it's $30 to replace the black ink and color is around $40.

I'm looking into a Canon myself right now.

I just picked up the Canon i320. It got great reviews from PCWorld, and is dirt cheap ($45 at Amazon).

I have the Samsung ML-1210. Fast laser printer, automatically colates, haven't had to replace the toner yet even though I print plenty, and it was not that expensive. HIGHLY recommended.

I have used a lot of printers including family and friends.

Best bang for your buck is going to be a Epson or Canon. The major cost of a printer is not its price, but how much ink cost. And Canon and epson have a LARGE aftermarket when it comes to ink.

When you find a couple good epsons and canons, go to ebay or some ink shops onoine and see how much the ink is to refill it.

But stay away from HP and Lexmark unless you don't mind spending a pile of money on ink every time.

you can buy a whole new printer of theirs for cheaper than that, and it includes cartridges.
