X800 has 12 pixel pipelines while the 6600GT has 8. Fillrate 4400MT/s vs. 4000MT/s.
X800 has 256-bit memory bus while the 6600GT has 128-bit. Memory bandwidth 22.4GB/s vs. 16GB/s.
X800 also has 6 vertex pipelines to the 6600GT's 3.

get x800, it has more 4 more pixel pipeline and 256 bit memory interface, so it's going to be a little faster, and in my experience, ati chips always run cooler than nvidia ones on stock cooling. x800 is even better deal than 6600gt now with the 30bucks rebate, makes it even cheaper on some card than 6600gt, and it really ticks me off everytime i remember that i bought my x800 just a week before the whole rebate thing appeared :{
