best price/performance mp3 flash player

What would be the best price/performance ratio mp3 flash player? I do not want a hdrive mp3 player. Is the mp3 player on palmone devices subpar to the dedicated flash mp3 players? I am in the market for one.

i just picked up a 1 GB ipod shuffle to complement my 20 GB ipod. i bought it to run with, and i don't even really notice it when it is hanging around my neck. i thought i might miss having a screen on the player, but for what i use it for, i'd never look at it. if you *need* a screen, look elsewhere, but the ipod shuffle is suiting my needs quite well. very competitive price, too.

It isn't necessarily the cheapest, but I'm quite happy with the IRiver iFP-895 512MB player, as a workout player. Got it from Best Buy for 149 - 20MIR (plus tax). 😀

I've had my iRiver 128mb flash player for over a year now and love it. I only use it when working out, so as long as the volume is loud enough and it works, I'm happy. I'd definately get a 256mb or even a 512mb player, as it doesn't take long to fill up 128mb with 192kbps or 256kbps VBR MP3s.

Would have reservations suggesting an Iriver. Currently have one, 799T (1 gb), and the joystick sucks, there is no real Random playback. Otherwise, great battery life and sound qualities and features, but damn its not perfect.
