Best price for a DSi?

You just missed the Borders Overwhelming Offer of the DSi for $100!

Aside from that, no ... Nintendo is notorious for not having deals on their products, especially one that's as new as the DSi.

I'm debating on a DS Lite or DSi.......

Hrmmmm.....

I wanna play GBA games........ However will all GBA games be on the DSi shop?

Dang......I don't know......lol......

The DSi shop is only on the DSi.....Plus SD support.......Yeah lack of GBA port.......The cameras I don't care for unless some good games use em.....I heard the DSi is a little more powerful.

Yes I have a PSP......Poor thing is collecting dust. I just can't seem to find games on it that engage me. I only have Twisted Metal Head-On and Vice City Stories......I mean I played TM: B and GTA: VC to death on the PS2. There was no real difference on the PSP. Or maybe handhelds are wrong for me? However GTA: China Town Wars looks more fun than the two games on PSP....

Waiting after E3 to see what's new on the DSi and this PSP GO that is coming out?

I'm also kinda worried of the life span of the DSi? How long before the next handheld?

Damn good deal. The DSi is vary expensive. They want $200 for it here in Canada for just the system itself. That's more than the PSP.

I'd go with the DS Lite. I just picked one up used at Gamestop for $110. I probably could have got it cheaper of eBay but GS guarantees the system. Picked up a couple of games and still came out under $200. The DSi does have the downloadable store but it's vary gimmicky given how much Nintendo wants for it.

Given that there's no ARM7 CPU in the DSi, I wouldn't expect this to happen at all. Maybe for GBC games, I suppose.

Unless the PSP Go! offers something really new over my hacked PSP-1000, I don't see the point.

If it sells like the DSL did? Probably at least another few years.

If you're gonna play GBA games, just get DSLite 'cause DSi doesn't have the GBA socket. Just so you know, DS, DSLite and DSi are the same handheld console with different shell, it's been on the market for 5 years now.

I don't think that is really fair. The DSi makes some pretty great renovations to the hardware when compared to the DSLite.

Still, the tacked on features are pretty gimmicky. I won't pick up a DSi until there is actually a title that I can only enjoy on the DSi.

This week's Pictobits is a start, but so far there really aren't any compelling reasons to pick up a DSi over a DS Lite--especially if you are interested in GBA games. Even if quality DSiWare releases become more common, there are plenty of quality GBA and DS games to keep you busy.

Well the DSi is selling like hotcakes and this is suppose to be Nintendos next portable system as the specs are a bit beefed up, so we might be getting DSi games soon?

They do plan to release GB, GBC, GBA games on the DSi Shop channel. Maybe other consoles too.

nintendo would be shooting themselves up the ass with a rusty pole if they made DSi only games. 3rd party might, but requiring the camera would be ridiculous (aside from DSi download only games).

This is just a stepping stone to see how download games work out for them. They really need to take a page from microsoft and unify their systems/purchasing a bit.

Its more than just a camera. The DSi could run games that would make the DS lag.

Yes. However we don't know if they will be released on cartage or not.

Most likely for download.

But if your gonna offer pacific games for the DSi for download, why not offer it on cartage as well?

I think the downloading games is kinda a cool idea on portables. But bad to screw out the retail market. Not just portables, lets say if all games and movies were to move to downloads then the electronic departments and game stores would shrink or close and less jobs and such. Plus download times and such. No more game deals as the prices would stay at a fixed rate. No used games, no game borrowing, no bringing games to friend houses and such.

So this whole download thing.......Might not be the best thing....

Remember that some games back in the day were playable on Game Boy Color and regular Game Boy but if you put it in a Game Boy Color, it would unlock certain things. I'm sure they're going to be doing the same thing here as well with many games.

Wonder if the SD slot will be used for expansions like the GBA slot was?

Oh I found a good deal on a DSi. It's pretty cool. I am not a fan boy or anything. I think the PSP is cool too and the upcoming PSP GO might be awesome. However it will be download based and who knows how much it will cost. Well see.

The DSi is still new. So hopefully E3 will show some cool things.

I hope they add GB,GBC and GBA games on the DSI Shop. I want Metroid II, Zero Mission and Fusion. Heck even SNES games would be cool. Or how about being able to swap SNES games on the DSI and Wii?

Dsi Browser needs an update! The touch screen is a plus compared to the psp. As typing is a breeze. However the DSi browser can be slowwww!

Some people complain about no flash on the DS.... However flash and java on the PSP, resulted in out of memory errors.... Unless the PSP Slims fixed this. The PSP GO should get a touch screen.

Typing on my DSi right now, lol!

Now I need some games for it. I got a good deal on it, got it for the same price as a DS Lite.

I was looking at some PSP games as well, thinkin of dustin off the ol PSP.... However would it be worth it, with the PSP GO coming?

Anyways.... I should close on this thread since I found the best deal on a DSi and shouldn`t go to far off topic. Over all the DSi camera and audio edit thing is fun for a short while. When the DSi shop gets some worthy titles, then snag one. If you have a DS Lite keep it but wait, if you don't then wait.... Wait till the DSi shop becomes worth it and the DSi drops in price.

The DSi won't drop in price any time soon. How long as the DS Lite been out? 4 years? It's still full retail price, $129.99. Nintendo has no need to drop the price when it's still printing money.

I'd be curious to see where you got a brand new DSi for the same price as a DS Lite. Finding deals on DSes is a rarity, since it's still selling like hotcakes. Unless you got a "deal" from GameStop for a used one or traded in some towards credit, or perhaps scrounged eBay for someone desperate selling a used DSi for the same price as a DS Lite.

That being said, I just got mine yesterday. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by the DSi. The DSi has more power under the hood than the DS Lite, it has better networking and multimedia features, and the SD card slot gives it future expandability. Unless you can find a DS Lite for super cheap or don't have a GBA/GBA Player for the GameCube, there's no reason to buy a DS Lite at this time. The DSi is the future.

I just had DSi on my mind and decided to look all over....

Looked at online shops & coupons, whipped out some local classifieds in the ol paper and online and even popped in some Pawn Shops and game stores and such......

I just got lucky really.

However if you want to try and find good deals on a DSi, try Half.com or Amazon.com.....

Unless this is a typo or something.... On Page 9 of the DSi manual that shows the front and back of the DSi and lists what the things are on it. For the DS Game slot it says for loading DSi and DS games.

Unless it's a flub up in the manual....However the DSi does have more powerful hardware....

Course let's not forget the biggest selling feature which is the DSi shop. For older games and DSiware games.

Wonder if they will offer DS games for download later? Maybe with WPA2 support?

I have WPA2 setup on the DSi. But I have to setup WEP to play DS Cartage's. What a load of crap. The WPA2 is for DSi titles and features.

Anyways I think i'll start a DSi thread for this kind of stuff. As this should be for people looking for the best price for a DSi.
