My cybersonic just bit the dust so I'm looking for a replacement - any ideas? I've used the Oral B Ultra (bottom of the line model) and the cybersonic (sonicare knock-off)...

I have to agree. I got mine free from a promotion at my dentist, but my teeth feel clean after using it. I know some people say it doesn't make a difference and it's not worth the money, but that dentist clean feeling is just great.

I was using the Crest SpinBrush and it worked just fine. :)

I just started using the Multi-Angle version of the same brush and I like it. :D

Get a real Sonicare, CostCo has a great personal bundle with a travel kit and it's cheap!

actually, a recent study came out (i think it was from england) that said there are no real advantages to using a power toothbrush - they dont really do a better job than a regular old cheapo toothbrush.

Got a link to this study?

I like the Sonicare.... it cleans pretty well and leaves my mouth with a "just came from the dentist" feeling

Sonicare. Mine is TEN YEARS OLD now. My wife got it from a dentist. We've got heads for her and heads for me. We bought a bunch of heads from Sam's Club so it's pretty cheap in the long run.

ditto on sonicare. was told to stay away from oral B because the fast rotating motion will cause your gum line to recede?? *shrug*

take it from the son of a dentist... power toothbrushes = waste of money. The best power toothbrush is your manual arm!

My teeth haven't felt cleaner or been more white than after I started with my Sonicare. I don't care what studies say, or if you're the son of a dentist, they work better than manual.

Sonicare. And the Sonicare Elite is even fancier with battery charge level meter and a speed control :p

My dad's a dentist and he swears by the sonicares.

He got me one a while back but it tickles my teeth too much, i cant take it, so i just use a regular one.

You just need to get used to it... the first couple of times will tickle a lot... but after that you become comfortably numb.

i dunno, from a bit i saw on the news, ocilating brushes are good. "spin" brushes that just rotate in one direction suck and are no better then normal toothbrushes.

i had a sonicare, dont like cuz it tickles too much, and it doesnt feel like it has done any better of a job than a manual.

when people say a sonicare feels so much better than a manual after their first brush with the sonicare, i think this is more of a placebo effect, most people feel like its done a better job because its a $100 toothbrush vs a $3 toothbrush, so it better do a better job to make them feel jusified about the purchase.

I doubt that... my teeth feel that they were cleaned more thoroughly with my sonicare than anything else.

In the spirit of t3 coming out... the machines are taking over and will rule us!

Seriously folks... just think of the different ways in which you amazing arm can brush your teeth and all for free! You can go in so many difference directions and with greater efficiency get those hard to reach places... just don't be lazy when you do it manually.

Also, the biggest thing people should do it go get a dental cleaning from a dentist and consistantly do a good job from then on out. If you do a good job your teeth will feel exactly like a dentist just cleaned them for about 3 months or longer.
