I just purchased a Kingwin Case.

I'm sick and tired of loud computers.
What is the most silent Power Supply out there?
What is the best rated Power Supply out there in terms of reliability?

Thanx ahead of time for answering my questions

1.) Quietest: Zalman's are supposed to be DEAD silent, like "is it even on?" silent. i hear good things about Antec's new True Power series. you can always modify a cheap power supply with some panaflo's but that can be a pain or a gamble if you've never done it before.
2.) Highest Rated: i'm a big fan of Enermax or Antec. i modded my Enermax w/ an 80 and a 92mm panaflo so now i can't hear it at all.

I heard the purepower was a really good power supply for the money. I would go with that if I were you.

I bought an Enermax 431Watt PSU for my Kingwin with variable fan speed controll on it. When I'm screwing around ocing my computer to the extreme I can turn it up for the extra air flow but when I come back to my sences and return t to default settings I can reduce the fan speed to where i cant here it over the case fans. If you already have a Kingwin case you know that its not very loud to begin with so it says a lot about the PSU. Its also sweet looking dark blue and has gold fan covers that match the Kingwin case, if you care.

Zalman PSU's are dead silent.
Antec PSU's are very silent.

I would go with Antec, because their PSU's are known to be one of the best. I have Enermax PSU right now and the fans are thermally controlled, so once my case gets hot, it gets pretty loud. Okay not loud, but I want my computer SILENT.

I myself have a Kingwin case. What an awesome case. Best money I've ever spent on computer case. =)

Seasonic and PC Power and Cooling make good power supplies. I know Seasonic has some PSU's with silence in mind. Quiet PC specializes in quiet products.

Nexfan carries the Zalmans at a good price. I can vouch for them being very quiet, and beefy, not a flyweight overspec'd item at all.

Servercases has the Seasonics at the same price, haven't tried them myself, but their reputation is good, supposedly even quieter than the zalmans.

If you feel that more power is required, then spending considerably more for a Tru-Antec would probably be the way to go.

You're off to a good start. Now you just have to avoid whiney chipset and vidcard fans, make the right cpu hsf choices along with quiet case fans and HDD's. It's not easy, modern systems pour out heat like crazy....
