Best Power Supply & Case Fans?

I am considering buying a 300W Seventeam for a tbird 1.4ghz. Of course since there don't seem to be many articles out there regarding power supplies, anyone know if Seventeam PSUs are good or not? Anyone have better suggestions in mind?

Also can someone give me some good case fan brands/models? 🙂

never heard of seventeam, but that doesn't mean anything coming from me. as far as case fans, you can't go wrong with a few Sunon 80mm, and for $5 each at newegg.com, they are easy to come by.

The "best" is subjective. With that in mind I say Enermax, Sparkle, or Antec would be a solid choice of powersupplies.

The Sunon in newegg.com is a good buy. I've got two of those and they're quiet.

For a 1.4Ghz consider buying anything above 300watt from Enermax. You would wanna settle for a 350Watt or 400 Watt PSU for future upgrades. 🙂

I do have a 350W right now. My only concern being that it is not AMD certified (Snake-Snake, anyone heard of it?)

Seventeam's power supplies are AMD certified, and it has safety certification from 9 countries. I was just wondering if anyone know about it and if there's anything bad about it. 😛 If not, I'll probbly go for it, since it's very widely seen in Taiwan.

As for the case fans, YES I DO HAVE SUNONS!!! WOOHOO!!! ^_^ I just didn't know how good they were. I am a newbie when it comes to fans and this store manager in Taiwan recommended me for Sunon's brushless system fans. So I bought two, one 3-pin and one 4-pin.

A strange problem though: the A7V133 motherboard I have can not detect the rotation speed of the 3-pin case fan. Does anyone have a similar trouble? I am very sure my motherboard's pins are working fine because I had a cheaper sleeve fan on it before and it detected the speed just fine.. 🙁

I'm not so fond of the 300W Seven Teams I have seen, although the 400W are very nice.

brands i would consider would include

HiPower, Sparkle (also Aopen, PowMan and Fortran), Enlight, Antec, Enermax, Topower or Fong Kai (unsure who makes their PSus)

The only 300W Seventeam PSus sold here are the ST-301HR model. This has very weak combined 3.3V and 5V rails (125W) and I wouldn't put it near a 1.4GHz Tbird

The Seventeam ST-300BLP and ST-300BLV models (180W) look very nice and would probably be very good for your needs. However I haven't seen these models in action.

Just don't get a ST-301HR

Yup, the BLP an BLV models are the two that are AMD certified. 🙂 Forgot to mention that.

Thanks for your input! ^_^
