ok. i am dealing with three fans. Two of them are located vertically in the back of the case and one of them is located on the left side of the case. Right now I have the side fan blowing out and the rear fans blowing in. Is this the way that it's supposed to be??? or is it supposed to be different. Please let me know.

I'd have it the other way around. Exhaust with the 2 rear fans and intake with the side fan. You risk sucking in hot air from the PSU if your rear fans are intake.

yup, thats backwards. side and front are intake areas, rear /top exhaust.

you don't want the rear fans feeding fresh air in just to have it sucked out immediately by the psu. you want air to circulate around the case from front to back covering all components.

side fans blow fresh air over vid card or cpu depending on where they are located.

I cant seem to understand why the side would be an intake when there is a filter for the front fan so it keeps dust out of the case. If we intake the side then the front filter is useless?

Does the filter even matter?

you put a filter on it manually. fan filters are sold at online stores or frys etc. foam or aluminum mesh.

you can do this with any intake.. and yes, leaving one fan free would be stupid.

if you feel ghetto and cheap, you can buy washable furnace mesh filters/airconditioner foam filters and somehow attach that to the fan. might look kinda ugly;) i did that, but i don't care:p
